DAIRY PROCESSING PLANT

This processing plant had seen their sewer discharge regulatory fees increase by 269% in the four years prior to reaching out to Diversified Direct. The impact of the year-to- year skyrocketing cost to the division's fiscal budget was unpredictable and impossible to manage.
DDE was called upon to evaluate the existing situation and offer a path forward with the objective of regaining control of their sewer expenses. A thorough review and audit of the treatment system was conducted. This included treatment plant equipment, treatment system program, utilities, waste disposal, regulatory fees and labor.
The findings were presented along with a comprehensive three-part corrective action plan. The new strategy fullfilment delivered a massive 50% reduction in the total annual sewer fees in only 4 months since implementation. The following fiscal year saw an additional 33% decrease in fees as compared to the prior year, bringing them full circle back to full regulatory compliance and budgetary alignment.
TREATMENT SYSTEM OPTIMIZATION
2014-2015
Diversified Direct was invited to assess concerns over a poor performing waste treatment system. The discovery process revealed that the facility had lost control of the treatment process resulting in steadily increasing sewer and treatment costs. Additionally, the facility lacked adequate support and expertise to tackle the ongoing condition.
After an in-depth analysis of the data and treatment process, DDE conducted a extensive survey of the treatment system.
The conclusions showed that growing flow discharge volume was to blame for a complete loss of mass water balance. The consequential outcome was the overflow of untreated influent directly to the city sewer.
A plan to regain mass water balance was put in effect. This was a multi-phase project that included automation along with treatment system and treatment program optimization. The action plan was completed over a 90 days period in order to accommodate budgetary restrictions that would've pushed the proposed improvement back for 7 months that would've cost the client the same amount as the total cost of the upgrade. The successful implementation saved the plant enough to deliver a 6 month ROI.
